Last autumn, I joined an After School Club under the progression team. I have to teach teenagers between 15 to 19 years of age about the Animation technique involving stop motion. By doing tho workshop, I leant a lot because I had started doing my Animation university brief so it helped e a lot in terms of narratives, charter design and model making. However, I also have to help students with their Animation. Conveying my new knowledge to another person helps to reinforce my knowledge.
There was a Thought Bubbles Workshop that I joined around early November. We had to make paper lanterns for Thought bubbles to hang on cardboard trees during the event. This was my first attempted creating a lantern and it was easier than I had thought.
After School Club (Spring) : Illustration and Graphic Design.
Since January, there has been another After School Club but instead of animation,I have to teach teenagers (15 -19 years old) illustration and graphic design for eight weeks. There were also few other student ambassadors from different courses such as Fine Art and Graphic Design. In the second week, Adam and I had to talk about illustration, what it is, what you do, future careers and answers any questions and show out sketchbooks. I really enjoy the After School Club because it is escapism from doing my university projects. The After School Club has also boosted my confidence and improved my communication skills and this will really help me in future when I hope to be a lecturer. Sometimes I am a bit scared to mingle with young students, but after I started talking and helping them, they were friendlier than I thought.
