Sector : Quaternary sector
Service : Private
Service: Creative industries, advertising, craft and educational service.

I think all these designer belong to quaternary sector as they are books; they are educational as well as belonging to school, libraries also home. I think they are very successful because the illustrations are really attractive and ready to use for the audience/buyers. Most of these designers are freelance ( I even met one of the designer for a book above). However, the window display above is not educational, it is more to display and decoration.

Collaboration

I collaborated with my student called Josh to make a 2D stop motion animation by using some cuts-out. I made this was way before I've learn dragon frame software. I created this stop motion by using a software called IStopMotion. However I think the animation look so fast so if I had more time I will edit it in Ae to make it slower.

Mugs

I was curios how to make some mugs then I decided to go to ceramic workshop to make some. I really enjoy making these as:-
  • This was my first time
  • Out of my comfort zone, I never experimented with clay before
  • This made me realise that I could apply my illustration on mugs
I am not planning to take ceramic seriously, I think this techniques is more to a hobby and escapism. If I have more time in the future, I probably will be making some bowls, plates and different shapes of mugs.

Drawing club

I went to a drawing club that run by Matt few weeks ago which we what to draw onto a big sheet by starting to draw a square which represent our house. I really enjoy this club and probably will join it in the future if I am not busy. It is also help me to know the first year students as well as my own studio mates.
This task have made me realised that each person have their own tone of voice and different interests. I can see it now clearly that interests have a big impact to someone's illustrations\drawings.

Lanterns for Thought Bubble.

I am working as a student ambassador every Thursday and last week we had to make some lanterns for Thought Bubble festival and this image above is my lanternMaterials that I have used is a piece of pink paper and a scarf knife. I used a kraft knife to cut the lines so the light will came out of it.

These are some laters that other people creates for the festival. I quite enjoy working with people especially young adult; it helps me to gain my communication, leadership and collaboration skills as well as boosting my patience skills. I am considering teaching as my future career. Probably a lecturer as well as having my own studio,

Pinterest

I am interested at placing my illustration at:-

  • Product and Packaging ( bags, t-shirts, fabrics, drink etc)
  • Children's books ( educational, story books)
  • Environment and objects (Wallpapers, cups, bins, windows etc)
These are my Pinterest board that I made for my personal record. For instant whenever I do outside e.g. shopping or travelling I always take some photos from my phone then upload them in Pinterest boards.
