I started off by drawing a lot of flowers then I got bored so I decided to draw cats. But all sketches that I sketched got no meaning behind it as I want to form an opinion. So I did these :-
I like the idea of me as a cat = as a metaphor of myself >> my journey from Malaysia to United Kingdom as that was a massive step and did changed my life a lot.
That evening I went to my friend house, chilling out. Then we start talking about these little animal e.g. frogs and slugs as in Malaysia we got plenty of them.
Two stories that catch my attention.
1st - A frog in a shoe
2nd - Slug on a BBQ
and actually 'a frog in a show' did happen to me when I was in Malaysia. Once. How nostalgic... Anyway. I was planning of making either a hotdog book or a zine.
Technique : Screen printing ? something like this (images below)
by Jackkrit Anantakul ( click here of this behance)
- limited colours used
- contrast in colours
- added some textures
- outlined
These are some of my sketches for A frog in a shoe:-
I am debating weither if I should do those two stories (frog and slug) or just do the frog one. To be honest I think 'A frog in a shoe' got the most interesting story line compared to the slug one. After having a tutorial with Matt, he helped me expand my frog ideas to 'Frogs hiding places' based on one of my sketch.
and there are my ideas of frogs hiding places
The one that I highlighted are the potential ideas for my hotdog book.
Hotdog book = 8 pages.
2 covers (front and back, 6 illustration of its hiding places)
I also did a hotdog mock up with quick sketches to help me figure out the layout of the hot dog book.
I did lots of sketches and scamps on my sketchbook and these are (below) my final sketches for my hotdog book.
With no particular order (except the front and the back cover).
