Media Prima

I was invited for a job interview for a company called Media Prima. It is a Malaysian TV company however, during the date on the interview, I will be in Norway. 

I replied to the e-mail but they have not reply my e-mail. 

Japanese Scholarship.

Last minute Japanese scholarship submission.

Yesterday, I just realised that the deadline of this scholarship is this friday ! I thought the deadline is in May ! The worst part is I need to post the application to Malaysia. I swear I don't have any money anymore to spend this month. I decided to use my saving money.

Yup, 2 days delivery guarantee to Malaysia costed me £63.05.

Let's pray that I will get this scholarship.

To do list.

I can feel that my brain start to out of focus, so I decided to do a to do list. Creating a to do list is good for myself and my brain to focus and concentrate. I realised that if I don't create a to do list, I will sate my time on doing something unnecessary such as on Facebook or watch movie etc.

Let's get this promo pack done so I can print it tomorrow !

Lisa Congdon

This beautiful illustration is by Lisa Congdon. I have been following her Instagram since last year. Her artworks are all amazing; image above is her latest illustration. Limited colour pallet with a white and dark blue colour is my favourite ! She applied her illustrations on to fabric, cups, give wrappe etc. 

Ceramic

I made a new cup last month. Sometimes, I like to make some ceramic stuff just to release tension and sort of ran away from my illustration projects. I might make some more next week (during easter holiday). Of course my illustration projects are my priority; I usually spend maximum a day in ceramic just for fun and release tension.

Hmm, lychee juice. Proper tasty.

• director's name - so I can send the promo pack.

I also found another company called Become. They need a graphic designer. The good part is they are based in Leeds and I have most of their requirements.

Job Applied.

I applied this Graphic Design job for a company called 3P Direct Ltd. 3P Direct Ltd are print and packaging specialists supplying a wide range of sectors including: Industry, Retail, Consumer, Education and Government.

I had had to update my CV because I have been doing animation for The Engineering Colouring Book !

Oh my god ! I think I should apply more jobs. Let's do this thing !

Things to do before and during easter.

AE tutorial.

I watched this amazing AfterEffects tutorial on Youtube. I might have a go with this tutorial. 

National Citizen Service(NCS)

I applied NSC two weeks ago as they need someone to run art workshops during summer break which will be in june to september. I sent to them my CV, personal statement and reason why I want to work with them.

Yesterday, I got an email from them saying:-

Basically, I got rejected by them; but oh well. It is not end of the world anyway.

My Future Plan.

I hope it is not too late to create 'My Future Plan' diagram. 

MA in Illustration

YESSS. I already submit my MA application at Edinburgh University. 

To do Today.

Recently, I found it was hard for my brain to concentrate as got so much stuff that need to be done.

Then I decided I need to create a to do list; and this i my to do list for today.

I shall concentrate now. Bye!

I printed my promo pack at the digital print room.

Inside the box have:

• My CV
• double side go my illustrations (4 in total)
• a pack of chocolate (I will buy them)

but guess what !, The box lead is smaller than the bottom. Oh god. I need to reprint and do a lot of test.

The lead should be bigger, not smaller.

I still think my promo promo pack is too big. I will resize it to 2cm bigger than my CV, 13.12cm(w)x18.5cm(h) 

The smaller the promo pack is, the smaller the printing cost will be.

I am planning to send my promo pack to 5-10 design studio in the UK during easter time. I know this might be quite late to send my promo pack but I think now I have enough work to send to contemporary studios.

I am considering to buy a maroon colour paper instead of using a paper then print it will maroon valour ink. This is because when I fold the paper, there some white mark.

Test Test

Experimenting with type for my promotion pack !

I am considering to add some text inside my packaging, debating with myself either if I should put 'I am good, right? so, hire me please' or 'My drawings are beautiful, right? so, hire me please.'.

Image X and Y 

Then at the end, I decided to put 'My illustrations are beautiful, right? so, hire me please'. The inside background will have pattern on fishes. My final design for the inside box will be image X.

The Box lead 

I was thinking to put my CV at the box lead but then my CV is too long for the square size of my box. After I had a long thought, I decided to print my CV onto a separate piece of 6060card.

Promotional Pack

I am thinking to update my promotion pack. On my promotion pack, I am thinking  to :-

• I will have a box
• my CV will be print onto the cover
• 3/4 samples of my work and will have my detail at the top right hand corner (My name and e-mail)
• some candy and chocolate.
• I will tie the box using a string.
