My favourite quote from the article : 'Being wrong leads to being creative. If you’re never willing to be wrong, then you’ll never be as innovative as when your imagination is prodded by failure. You’ll just repeat what you already know over and over.'
3. If I keep trying, I will get a better
result (illustrations) - Yup, More experimentations and sketches I do = I will
have more choice and hopefully with get better results.
We had a talk with Simon, (Ralph Steadman's biographer) said that Steadman is a type of illustrator that 'learn to fail'. Btw, Steadman is one of the greatest illustrator in this century.
4. I know and love how to make my own pattern and have learnt a lot of - basically I saw Eric Carle creating his patterns and he even used a piece of carpet to get its texture and I was like 'What!'. 10. I will be a good illustrator if I have a
subject to draw - I
found it easier to draw when Fred/Matt gave me a subject to draw. E.g. for the
narrative snail project, I did came out with lots lots lots of sketches which
made me happy. *happy dance*. However I will struggle if a given topic is too
broad.
This image above shows my sketches when I was giving a subject to draw. My subject was 'snail: how snails have been stepped on'
